Summary

Applied Optoelectronics, Inc., located in Sugar Land, Texas is seeking a full-time Global Strategic Sourcing Engineer with a bachelor’s degree in engineering management or supply chain management or business administration and 2-years related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Engineer and implement advanced sourcing strategies integrating engineering principles for materials and components to fortify the company’s business objectives. Develop logistic metrics and key performance indicators.
• Apply engineering principles to material and component selection, reliability validation, and process optimization.
• Engineer optimizations in procurement processes and developing global logistics strategies with an engineering focus.
• Provide sustaining engineering design control for product life cycle management.
• Develop supply chain risk management programs to ensure business continuity through engineering capabilities assessments, process evaluation, and material flow analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering management, supply chain management, or business administration

• 2-year work experience in the job offered or as a Logistics Engineer or as a Logistician
