Summary
We are seeking a Senior Production Line Engineer with extensive manufacturing experience to ensure a rapid ramp-up and shortened training period. The ideal candidate possesses a deep, practical understanding of manufacturing workflows and how automated machinery operates to maximize production line efficiency. Knowing Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) will be a big plus for the role, including the hands-on ability to program PLC systems directly. Excellent communication skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this position.
Job Responsibilities
Support and maintain optical module daily production.
Provide qualification SOP and instructions for Technicians and Operators
Modify necessary manufacturing processes as needed
Work with Quality team to establish inspection standards for new material
Work with Sourcing team to review specifications and documentation from vendors
Up to 5 - 15% international travel is expected for this position.
Other duties as needed or required.
Supervisory Responsibilities
The qualified candidate will assist the production line manager to supervise all operators, technicians, and supervisors. This role will be directly responsible for organizing employee schedules, approving time sheets, and approving Paid Time Off requests from subordinates.
Qualifications
Required: Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or LabVIEW programming experience
3-5 years of working experience in optical module manufacturing or other related industrial environment.
Knowledge of common programming languages
CAD Skills, SQL, and database skills preferred
Strong teamwork and communication skills to manage multiple/concurrent projects
Six Sigma Management and CAD design certifications a plus

Must be willing and able to work in a cleanroom environment around equipment and maintain protocol and dress-code, including a full-body gown and face mask, no perfume, and no make-up.
Location
This position will be on-site based in Sugar Land, Texas.
