Sr. Financial Reporting Analyst

Summary

The Senior Financial Reporting Analyst is primarily responsible for the development of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports for the business to meet GAAP, Sarbanes - Oxley Act requirements, SEC regulations, and company goals and objectives, to assist AOI in anticipating and responding to changing and increasingly complex public company accounting and reporting requirements. The Senior Financial Reporting Analyst would work directly with colleagues in our Chinese subsidiaries in Taipei, Taiwan and Ningbo, China. Ability to speak Mandarin Chinese conversationally is highly preferred.

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate and timely public filings, such as Form 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, Annual Proxy Statement, and quarterly earnings releases.

  • Provide monthly internal financial statements and variance analyses.

  • Execute monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounting functions in compliance with US GAAP, including but not limited to journal entries, account reconciliations, policy writing, and technical accounting discussion papers.

  • Maintain process documentation and policies to ensure accuracy, effectiveness, and reliability of the established financial controls.

  • Communicate with and assist external and internal audit teams with financial reporting disclosure requests.

  • Assist in the research and implementation of new accounting standards, and researching other accounting issues as they arise, with the opportunity to draft technical accounting memos well as prepare other ad-hoc technical analyses.

  • Participate in special projects, including automation and other efforts, to streamline and improve accounting and reporting processes.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, adjust to changing conditions, and improve internal controls.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with at least 5-year working experience in finance, financial planning and analysis, or financial reporting; Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or MBA, with at least 3-year working experience in finance, financial planning and analysis, or financial reporting preferred.

  • Robust knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls over financial reporting, and experience preparing SEC filings or similar quarterly/annual reports are preferred.

  • CPA or CMA license is a plus.

  • SAP and Business Planning Consolidation knowledge and experience are desired.

  • Quick learner with proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially advanced MS Excel and database tools skills are required.

  • Attention to detail and ability to perform diligent, analytical, and meticulous financial analysis.

  • Strong organization skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize; ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to speak Mandarin Chinese conversationally is highly preferred.

Location

This position will be on-site based in Sugar Land, Texas.
