Summary
We're seeking a Quality Engineer - IQC (incoming material quality control) to join our team! In this role, you'll be responsible for confirming that outsourced or purchased materials meet relevant standards. Specifically, you'll assess whether these materials align with application and product requirements. The incoming material quality control process serves as both a communication channel with suppliers and a critical gateway for quality control. Successful performance in this role directly impacts our product quality costs and our reputation among suppliers.
Job Duties
Handling quality problems of incoming materials: As part of the IQC procedure, you'll track and address quality issues identified during inspections. Additionally, you'll address major material quality concerns reported by production and the market, implementing preventive measures within IQC.
Maintaining routine IQC operations: Ensuring the smooth day-to-day functioning of IQC processes is essential.
Controlling incoming materials: You'll oversee that all incoming materials adhere to established procedures. This includes addressing any quality issues identified during IQC inspections.
Summarizing inspection results: You'll compile and generate monthly and annual reports based on incoming inspection data, combining it with other relevant reports.
Material ingredient testing: If necessary, you'll measure or test material ingredients.
Effective communication: You'll share inspection results with relevant teams and departments, providing corrective suggestions as needed.
Documenting deficiencies and errors: Writing reports to document any deficiencies or errors in incoming materials is part of your responsibilities.
Collaborating with multi-teams: Working across teams, you'll ensure material quality, function, and standards specifications are met.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree at least in a related field preferred (Material Engineering/Science, Electronical Engineering, semiconductor, Physics/Chemical engineering, or related field.)
1 - 3 years of work experience in semiconductor process engineering, semiconductor process support, supplier quality management, or materials quality management.
Proficient in computer AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, such as Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
Proven experience as a quality control inspector in the same industry preferred
Strong regard for quality assurance according to company standards
Good knowledge about optoelectronic industry products and processes
Excellent presentation and reporting skills
Good team player who can work efficiently with minimal supervision
Self-motivation, dependability, and work with minimal direction
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Ability to work optimally with multi-functional teams
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
Good organization and multi-tasking skills and excellent attention to details
Location
This position will be on-site based in Sugar Land, Texas.
