QA Compliance Engineer

Summary

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Compliance Engineer who will be working in the quality assurance department to execute compliance for environmental standards. The successful candidate will ensure products are free from hazardous materials and adhere to proper safety standards. The QA Compliance Engineer will collaborate with management, legal, production, engineering, R&D, supply-chain teams for compliance and risk management and implementing corrective actions.

Job Duties

  • Ensures product and engineering compliance by developing and executing conflict minerals free supply-chain programs and completing documentation.
  • Conducts responsible Minerals Initiative (“RMI”) Conflict Minerals Reporting Template (“CMRT”), defined in the SEC (the Securities and Exchange Commission)’s conflict minerals rule.
  • Prevents compliance issues by collaborating with engineering and design teams, reviewing design data, and developing compliance policies.
  • Researches and identifies applicable regulatory and industry compliance standards EU RoHS/REACH declaration and the codes of conducting (social, environmental and ethical industry standards).
  • Develops compliance plans by researching, analyzing, selecting, and applying compliance engineering concepts, approaches, techniques, and criteria, evaluates new compliance.
  • Attains compliance by isolating and resolving compliance issues, recommending product and process changes, and initiating engineering change orders.
  • Documents compliance by completing approval applications, recording test results, preparing investigative reports, and filing Declarations of Conformity, and maintaining compliance database.
  • Defined on purchase order for requirement of RoHS, REACH, CMRT/ EMRT and engagement of Co2e reduction.
  • Prepares compliance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing measurement data and trends.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Electrical, Environmental Engineering or a related field
  • At least one year of experience in a Compliance Engineering role is preferred
  • Industry-Specific Knowledge you are working in (e.g., telecommunications, data center, manufacturing) can be highly beneficial
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent documentation skills
  • Critical thinking, data analytics skills, and statistic software knowledge is required
  • Familiarity with process improvement methodology and algorithm
  • Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Attention to detail and full understanding of regulatory frameworks
  • Experience with computer-aided related software, e.g., SAP (an integrating and automating key processes software), MS-Office, MATLAB, Oracle PLM, etc.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and a good team player who can work efficiently with minimal supervision

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate may need the ability to lift and carry loads up to 20 pounds, stand and or walk for 10+ hrs. daily and climb stairs.
  • Subject to noise, vibration, and odors.
  • Subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, or exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals.

Location

This position will be on-site based in Sugar Land, Texas.
