Manufacturing QA Engineer

Summary

We are seeking a QA Test Engineer who will work in the Quality Assurance Department to measure optical transceivers. The candidate will measure the performance and transmission of packet loss of optical transceivers. The candidate will also collaborate with production engineering team to address any product quality issues in order to implement corrective actions.

Job Duties

  • Define and implement testing and validation strategies for 200/400GB/s AOC (Active Optical Cable), QSFP, SFP, etc. Optical Transceivers

  • Define and implement transceiver transmission packet loss test

  • Measure transceivers’ TX & RX Bit Error Rate (BER.)

  • Measure optical spectrum to ensure transceiver operates within specified wavelength range

  • Test receiver sensitivity for ensuring reliable data transmission over specific distances

  • Test temperature and stress test to ensure it can operate in different environments

  • Collect test data, write and maintain reports/data, test guidelines to be implemented in reliability and qualification tests

  • Leading and participating in quality improvement projects to enhance product quality and reduce defects

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Optical Engineering, Semiconductor, Physics, or related education

  • Experience in testing photonic components of modules at 25 Gb/s or higher

  • Familiarity with network analyzers, DCAs, TDR, BER testers

  • Basic knowledge of FPGAs, I2C interface, ADCs, DACs, microcontrollers

  • Experience in debugging and failure analysis techniques of prototypes and products

  • Strong understanding of optical communication standards

  • Understanding of processes involved in optical chip and module assembly, alignment and burn-in processes.

  • Understanding of PCB design and related testing procedures

  • Understanding of control algorithms and firmware-controlled systems

  • Flexibility/Adaptability, Good team player, self-motivated, effective communicator

  • Bilingual in Mandarin is a plus

Location

This position will be on-site based in Sugar Land, Texas.
